Car alarms are active security devices. Their role is to monitor the state of a vehicle (doors, trunk, bonnet, window break with additional sensors, interior break or vehicle lift) and to inform owner of the vehicle. When an alarm is triggered, the car alarm's unit triggers the siren and the hazard lights. Some advanced car alarms are also sending information directly to pager or mobile phone. Car alarms can be controlled with the vehicle's original remote (CAN BUS) or with an optional rolling code remote control.
